Editorial: P/C insurers deserve NOAA information on climate change

The rising frequency of tornadoes and other extreme-weather events should prompt Congress to allow the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to create a National Climate Service tasked with researching the effects of global warming, this editorial argues. The property/casualty insurance industry, "and many others, should be able to get the best possible information about what to expect from NOAA. Congress must allow the agency to make a direct effort to assess how a changing climate will change our lives," the editorial argues.
