Fagen gets order to convert Minn. ethanol plant to butanol

Fagen has secured a contract from Butamax Advanced Biofuels to retrofit a corn-based ethanol plant in Minnesota for butanol production. "Butanol enables refiners to get more fuel out of a barrel of oil and more high-value products. This is the next generation of biofuels that we'll be taking to the market in 2014," said Butamax CEO Paul Beckwith. The conversion project is slated to begin next year.
