House panel OKs cybersecurity bill that would create role for chemical industry

The House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday approved a cybersecurity bill with an amendment that would place a chemical-industry representative on an advisory board. "Cybersecurity is a critical issue for the chemical industry, and we appreciate the efforts of the members of the House Committee on Homeland Security to advance legislation that allows our industry to continue to take an active role on enhancing cybersecurity for chemical facilities," the American Chemistry Council said in a statement.
