Kingfisher Airlines will begin direct imports of jet fuel

Kingfisher Airlines received Indian government approval to begin direct imports of jet fuel, a move that will allow the cash-strapped airline to avoid state government taxes on purchases from local oil refineries. SpiceJet has already received the approval, and Air India plans to seek it as well. The taxes have made jet fuel costs much higher in India than in other nations.
