NYC pursues diversity data on ad industry

Ad holding companies face mounting pressure from New York City Comptroller John Liu to turn over information on employee diversity. City officials maintain that there is little racial, ethnic and gender variation in the industry. One target, Omnicom, says it is making multicultural progress but does not believe that disclosing such data is in the company's best interest.
