Report: Online ad industry now worth more than cable

The online advertising industry grew 22% in 2011, with revenues of $31.7 billion, making it more valuable than the cable-TV advertising industry, according to a new report from the Interactive Advertising Bureau. Mobile advertising was the fastest-growing sector, with year-on-year revenue growth of 149%, while digital video and search revenues also climbed steeply.
