RFA, others back liability-protection plan for fuel suppliers

At a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing, the Renewable Fuels Association and other groups voiced support for a bill that would protect E15 suppliers and marketers from misfueling liability. The bill, offered by Rep. John Shimkus, R-Ill., would protect suppliers and retailers of federally approved fuels and additives from getting sued over engine damage resulting from misfueling. A similar bill is also under consideration in the Senate.
