As New York City prepares to release new social media guidelines for schools, educators nationwide are weighing the instructional benefits of social-networking websites with the potential risks. Currently, teachers say they are taking varied approaches, with some teachers communicating with students online and giving them -- often limited -- access to their profiles. Others, however, say they do not friend students online.
