Abbott recalls some FreeStyle meters because of malfunction

Abbott Diabetes Care voluntarily recalled its FreeStyle InsuLinx Blood Glucose Meter because the devices may display and store inaccurate information when blood glucose readings are very high. The FDA posted information on its website that said one patient was successfully treated for hyperglycemia in a case that may have been related to the meters.
