Xbox unit posts higher revenue, boosts Live membership by 18%

In Microsoft's fiscal third quarter, the Xbox division increased revenue by 56% to $2.53 billion, compared with the same period a year ago. Membership in the Xbox Live service was up 18% from last year to 46 million, although Microsoft didn't disclose how many of those are paid subscribers. Microsoft next month is expected to introduce its next-generation Xbox console.
