California, district resolve standoff over antidiscrimination policy

Yesterday, California Schools Superintendent Jack O'Connell announced he would accept the Westminster Schools District's modified antidiscrimination policy, which rejected the state's position that students and staff members could define their gender. Three district trustees said their Christian beliefs led them to regard the state policy as an immoral promotion of alternative lifestyles.
