Florida officials cheered by steady gains in third-graders' FCAT scores

According to FCAT results released yesterday, Florida third-graders registered their third straight year of improvements in reading and math. Roughly 10% of high school seniors, about the same percentage as last year, failed to pass the exam and thus will not graduate this year.
