U.S. shrimpers fight market forces

As countries such as Asia and Latin America import low-cost shrimp to the U.S., American shrimpers are fighting for survival, saying that six nations are violating fair-trade rules. The Southern Shrimp Alliance wants the government to levy tariffs up to 200%, but the request has ignited opposition not just from the affected countries, but also from some American retailers and restaurants.
