Former Just For Feet exec gets prison time for ad billings fraud

The Birmingham, Ala., U.S. District Court this week sentenced a former EVP of Just For Feet to 20 months in prison for billing fraud. The executive, Don-Allen Ruttenberg, asked shoe makers, including Converse, adidas and Fila, to sign fraudulent letters saying they owed JFF $5 million in advertising bills -- a scheme Ruttenberg employed to artificially inflate the firm's revenues in its reporting to the SEC.
