AT&T will push 3G speed limit to 7.2 Mbps

With more bandwidth-busting handsets on the horizon -- potentially including a new iPhone -- AT&T said it would double the maximum speeds on its HSPA mobile-broadband network to 7.2 megabits per second. The carrier will roll out its souped-up 3G service nationwide from its two current test networks and has plans to evolve to HSPA+ later this year.
