General aviation contributes to life, business in N.Y.

General aviation in New York's Lower Hudson Valley hasn't been hit as hard as some might have expected. "It's been a pleasant surprise," says Matt Tary, a Piper sales manager with Columbia Aircraft Sales. "It hasn't been as bad as we thought it would be."
