Health IT units should gear up for growing storage needs, CIO says

Health IT departments should add some middleware to their systems in preparation for a significant increase in demand for space to store e-health records, said Geoff Brown, CIO at nonprofit hospital group Inova. The Virginia-based organization has been upgrading its systems, including layering storage and adding applications similar to enterprise resource planning, to accommodate the growing storage needs of its network.
