Illinois gets most stimulus money for bridges and roads

Road and bridge projects in Illinois will get more stimulus funds than any other state. Close to 250 projects will get under way with more than $600 million already approved for them. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, a former congressman in the state, said there is no favoritism, and noted that political woes in the state contributed to undone projects, which meant projects existed that were already shovel-ready.
