Production of batteries for electric vehicles zooms into high gear

While other manufacturing sectors wither in the current economy, developers of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles are moving full-speed ahead on production facilities and are creating jobs. In Michigan, tax incentives of more than $540 million were given to four companies, and the National Alliance for Advanced Transportation Batteries has selected a Kentucky site to build a planned $600 million manufacturing plant.
