Social media can collide with Main Street

Jim Blasingame, host of The Small Business Advocate Show, notes that he risks sounding like a new-media "heretic" when he writes that Main Street businesses can actually hurt themselves by getting too wrapped up in social media. While social-media communities can be intuitive for some service providers -- writers, for example -- they can take too much time from small restaurants or contractors who need to remain focused on their core, he writes.
