Tampa drawbridge to receive $1.7M overhaul

Engineers will begin renovations Wednesday on the "structurally deficient" Cass Street Bridge in Tampa, Fla. The eight-month project will replace mechanical parts on the 81-year-old drawbridge, last updated in 1949. The $1.7 million overhaul will also replace some of the girders on the bridge, which carries 12,000 vehicles per day.
