TransWorld plans to test heart-monitoring device

TransWorld Heart is planning to begin human clinical trials of Soul Mate, its cardiac-monitoring device designed for heart-transplant patients, with the goal of obtaining FDA approval for the device within two years. The company believes the device, which features a pacemaker and a defibrillator, could help cut the need for biopsies after transplant surgeries.
