Agency owner offers tips on capitalizing on Twitter

Sherry Laskin, owner of the Vacation Shoppe, offers suggestions on ways to tap into the potential of Twitter. Laskin stresses that agents should use social media for shameless self-promotion. "People do want to know about last-minute cruise deals, hotel discounts and airfare sales, but not 24/7," Laskin said. "When I stumble upon a ridiculously great value, I'll post it and then check periodically to see if anyone has thought enough of my deal to retweet or repost it to others or to e-mail me for more information. In the meantime, I'm uploading photos and commenting on others' blogs, fan pages and tweets."
