European Commission to require use of device database in May 2011

The European Commission said it will require all EU countries to disseminate regulatory data using the region's medical device database, Eudamed, effective May 1, 2011. EU countries will be required to use the Web-based portal for the registration of medical devices and manufacturers, among other purposes.
