Optimism high for industrial earnings

This quarter's earnings season could provide solid data that industrial companies are leading the way for economic recovery. Manufacturers have outperformed other industries, and there are expectations that many of these firms will top Wall Street forecasts, signaling a broader positive outlook for the economy. "We're seeing a pretty sharp V in demand for a lot of our products," said Jim Owens, chairman and CEO of Caterpillar.
