Parker Hannifin's profits jump; company gets tax credit

Profits for Parker Hannifin were $153.9 million, or 94 cents a diluted share, for the third quarter, nearly triple its profit of $53.4 million, or 33 cents a share, in the third quarter of fiscal 2010. Sales increased 12% to $2.6 billion, from $2.3 billion a year earlier. The company also was approved for a $4.3 million tax credit by the state of Michigan for investments the company plans to make at its Kalamazoo plant.
