Participants in upcoming climate conference downplay high expectations

Representatives from participating countries in the upcoming round of climate talks in Cancun, Mexico, are dampening the optimism of observers, as expectations of what can be achieved in the talks "far outstrip what can be done," said Todd Stern, top climate negotiator for the U.S. Stern's comment comes as negotiators concluded a two-day meeting in Washington, which discussed financing options to help developing countries cope with climate change.
