Pentagon lobbying against vote to repeal ban, activists charge

Aubrey Sarvis, executive director of Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, issued a public letter to President Barack Obama complaining about reports that the Pentagon has been trying to delay legislative action on a repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Defense Secretary Robert Gates is on record opposing a legislative repeal before the Pentagon completes a study on implementing a change in policy, but the White House has so far kept mum about when a vote will be scheduled on the issue.
