AT&T tool would make app ads sensitive to consumer location

AT&T plans to introduce an application tool this year that will allow developers to incorporate location-based ads in their apps. The technology, which is being tested, should boost ad revenues from apps because advertisers are generally willing to pay more for ads that target consumers who are physically in position to make a purchase.
