Gannett pushes digital-revenue builders

Media firm Gannett is rolling out a suite of digital-marketing programs, including a Groupon-like daily-deal feature called DoubleTake, in an effort to offset dwindling print-advertising revenues. In a first-quarter conference call with investors, Gannett chief executive Craig Dubow said the company has no immediate plans to begin charging for access to its USA TODAY application for the iPad and Android, but added that the option is something the company is "constantly looking at."
