Ireland's "second city" is a worthy alternative to Dublin

Though Cork City in Ireland always takes a back seat to Dublin, it has better weather and fewer people, giving it a more authentic feel. Narrow streets with old pubs, gothic churches and an 18th-century marketplace are sights to see in Cork. Its energetic ambiance comes partly from University College Cork, which produces creative graduates.
