Virginia will spend $4 billion over three years on hundreds of road and bridge upgrades and additional rail and transit service. The projects are expected to provide almost 100,000 jobs. "This year, we put partisanship aside and recognized that we must invest in transportation and help the private sector create much-needed jobs in all parts of the Commonwealth," Gov. Robert McDonnell said. The legislation also provides for establishment of the Virginia Transportation Infrastructure Bank.
