Can these DIY goggles let you control your dreams?

A designer developed a pair of goggles he says has the ability to prod a sleeper into a state of so-called "lucid dreaming" -- where a sleeper is aware of dreaming and can consciously control the course of action. The device is comprised of little more than a pair of safety goggles and a pair of LED lights that engage two hours after a wearer dozes off, at the height of REM sleep.
