KCS, NS expand intermodal reach with new U.S.-Mexico service

Kansas City Southern and Norfolk Southern recently launched a joint intermodal venture that is expected to widen their intermodal capabilities in the U.S.-Mexico market. The Class I's TMX partnership provides a more flexible and efficient method of transporting 53-foot containers by linking KCS' intermodal facilities in Mexico to NS hubs in Atlanta and in Charlotte, N.C. An increase in cross-border rail traffic spurred the creation of the new service.
