Ohio district considers lease for iPads, laptops

Officials in an Ohio school district are considering whether to approve a three-year lease with Apple that includes iPads, laptop computers and training. The cost of the lease would be $205,988 annually, or $617,964 over the length of the contract. When the lease has expired, the district could purchase the equipment from Apple. If approved, the funding for the new equipment would come from a fund that typically goes to purchasing textbooks.
