Stonyfield founder talks customer loyalty

Gary Hirshberg, who founded Stonyfield Yogurt in 1983, said in the beginning "no one knew what organic was, no one ate yogurt." Building customer loyalty allowed the company to improve its margins and save on advertising, but “the flip side is that if we break that trust, we’re toast,” he said.
