VHA holds workshops to help rural veterans

The Veterans Health Administration is holding workshops in five Southern states to train members of the clergy on how to help returning veterans who live in rural areas. According to Jeni Cook of the VHA National Chaplain Center, National Guard veterans and reservists face challenges different from those active-duty service members face because they don't have access to the same support structure. "When they return, they take off their uniform and they put back on their civilian camouflage, and they just kind of get lost in the community," Cook said.
