Iraqi civics textbooks reveal the regime's agenda

A survey of fifth- and sixth-grade textbooks used from 1994 to 1998 shows that Saddam Hussein's regime sought to permeate every aspect of life. Among the lessons taught to students is the notion that Iraq is always ready to fend off aggressors.
