Higher heart attack risk from Vioxx reported

04/21/2004 | Forbes

Vioxx manufacturer Merck & Co. said the study is not the final word on the subject and that other studies showed no different results from a placebo. The author agreed the data should not cause people to discontinue the medicine and said the elevation of risk only during the first three months may be because people susceptible to side effects are going to have them early.
