EBay looking for ally in Google wars

Online auctioneer eBay is reportedly talking separately to Yahoo! and Microsoft about creating a partnership to parry Google's moves into e-commerce through its classified play Google Base. Though eBay seems well-positioned to be a dominant player in e-commerce, with its stake in classified site craigslist, its online payment site PayPal and VoIP service Skype, Google's relentless innovation, its strong brand and huge cash reserves are making eBay restless.
