Florida students' writing scores on the rise

Across Florida, at least 76% of fourth-, eighth- and 10th-graders taking the state's writing test this year scored at least at the acceptable level. Besides a timed essay, students this year also took a multiple-choice writing test that will join the essay score as a factor in school grades, starting in 2008.
