Contractors accused of bid-rigging in the U.K.

British authorities have accused as many as 112 construction-related companies of bid rigging in relation to contracts awarded in 2002 and 2003. The contractors, which are mainly small or mid-sized companies, are accused of submitting bids with deliberately high prices, and several are also accused of making and receiving payments within cartels when bids are submitted.
