Developers plan to build up gateway to Escondido

Developers are pitching plans to bring mixed-use projects to Escondido, Calif., to improve the western gateway to the downtown area. Plans include redevelopment of the city's police station as an office and retail center, beautification of streets in the area, a new $56 million Marriott Hotel and construction of a pedestrian plaza.
