Extra pounds risky during and between pregnancies

Women who gain too much weight during pregnancy are at higher risk for gestational diabetes and high blood pressure, labor complications and stillbirth. A recent study also shows a one- or two-point increase in BMI between pregnancies can mean an increased risk of gestational diabetes, high blood pressure and delivering a large baby.
