Midlife chest pain raises heart disease mortality rate

Adults in their 40s who have chest pain or angina are at greater risk for premature death from heart disease later in life, researchers report. They say the extra risk is about the same as the increased risk seen with modest elevations in cholesterol and blood pressure.
