Von Eschenbach: Technology key to "metamorphosis of health care"

Health care is in the midst of change, and technology is essential to those changes, said FDA Commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach, comparing the state of health care to the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Technology can change the way diseases are detected, and the FDA will play a vital part in the change as well. "The FDA must be at the center of the collaboration, from discovery to the bedside," according to von Eschenbach.
