Construction on an ethanol plant for Aventine Renewable Energy was 85% complete when work was stopped in 2008. For the past couple of weeks, however, a 200-person crew has been working to get the 113 million-gallon plant running by this autumn. "This is the fastest I've ever seen an operation get up to speed," said Glenn See III, an on-site Aventine representative. Aventine's contractor, Fagen, a specialist in ethanol-plant construction, plans to hire as many as 50 more people to complete the project.
