Business groups can provide a different perspective

At their core, most businesses are alike, so business groups can be a great resource for entrepreneurs. "Sometimes what you can get from a group is not advice or a lesson. It might be an observation, a different perspective, or just a better understanding," writes Jay Goltz. But there are some pitfalls. Dues for the groups can be up to $13,000 a year, and participation often eats up a lot of time.
