FDA aims to expand disclosure of advisers' ties to companies

The FDA proposed that detailed information be disclosed about financial ties between advisory panel members and companies with medical products under evaluation whenever the agency grants a conflict-of-interest waiver. FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg said the move would allow the agency to "obtain needed input and maintain external credibility." The agency said it would gather feedback on the proposal for two months.
