Hospital survey shows data-breach and medical-fraud cases are rising

Despite new federal regulations, health data breach incidents and medical identity theft continue to rise, according to a survey of hospital executives. The survey found that about 41.5% of respondents said their hospitals encounter at least 10 information breaches per year, a 121% increase from last year, and 56% don't think the health reform law will curb medical fraud.
